was created in 2016 to showcase the plays written and co-written by Francesca Rose. She started with her first script, Deborah’s Children, co-written with Iain Whitmore. This unlikely collaboration also produced the as yet untitled, ‘Project 2’ which may be in the pipeline for the future. Grappling with so many frustrating hurdles to progress, (not least the experience of the pandemic) Francesca decided to produce her own work and expand the company which now comprises herself as company director, playwright and producer plus freelance actors, artistic directors, a musical composer, a choreographer, artist, technical support, a writing mentor, consultants, a finance manager and others whom we are so proud and honoured to showcase as our team and associates.
We operate as a democracy where although the company director, playwright and artistic directors necessarily take executive decisions all the time, everyone involved has a voice and a vote. They are given time and space to explain their vision and interpretation of the raw material. All views are appreciated and given airtime. Nothing is dismissed without consideration and reflection. We applaud every effort. We never allow hierarchical autocracy to stifle the creativity of the individual.
Our most recent play Learning, was written solo by Francesca. The piece has been several years and drafts in the making with very significant contributions by all members of the company in regular and often intense workshops and rehearsals. Learning went into full production in November 2024 at Artsdepot Studio Theatre, London, N12 and we were delighted that the show subsequently ran for a full two-weeks at Upstairs at the Gatehouse Theatre, Highgate London N6 in February 2025.
