Not of theatre folk, Francesca had long career in allied healthcare professions within the NHS and independently. Her overriding interest in both the science and art of voice led her to diversify her practice into the performance arena. Writing came later.

The discovery that she could write within a co-writing partnership added a new dimension to her late developing, fiery artistic temperament and produced Deborah’s Children; the as yet undeveloped ‘Project 2’ and  Learning which was in development since pre-pandemic times. This script was delivered on Zoom during the lockdown and the subject of rehearsed readings performances in community settings. Francesca took Learning into full production in 2024 and 2025 as Producer and Director of Townsend Rose Productions. Her latest script, Chains was the subject of a Rehearsed Reading, co-produced with Upstairs at the Gatehouse Theatre in April 2026.
